How to read this table

  • SQL Server 2019 is only supported on Typical Manager 2024.1. From Typical Manager 2025 onwards, it is no longer supported.
  • SQL Server 2022 is supported on Typical Manager 2024.1, 2025, and 2026. It is the most broadly compatible option if you want flexibility across releases.
  • SQL Server 2025 is supported on Typical Manager 2026.

Typical planning scenarios

  • Staying on SQL Server 2022: You can migrate through Typical Manager 2024.1, 2025, and 2026 without changing your SQL Server version.
  • Currently on SQL Server 2019: You must plan a SQL Server upgrade before migrating Typical Manager past 2024.1.
  • Planning to move to SQL Server 2025: You can do this once you are on Typical Manager 2026.

Why supported SQL Server versions change

  • Security: Running a supported SQL Server version ensures you continue to receive security updates from Microsoft.
  • Performance and stability: Newer releases include performance and reliability improvements.
  • Vendor support: Running a supported SQL Server version means both Yellax and Microsoft can assist you if issues arise.
