1. Migrate from Typical Manager 2025
There is an important requirement regarding migration from Typical Manager 2025 to Typical Manager 2026. To ensure a controlled and supported migration process:
Migration is only supported by Typical Manager 2025 version 5.4.2517.0 or newer.
If you are using an older version of Typical Manager 2025, you must:
- First install the latest supported version of Typical Manager 2025.
- Complete that migration step on your existing data.
- Only then proceed with the migration to Typical Manager 2026.
Note: Migrations from earlier versions (Typical Manager 2024.1 or older) directly to Typical Manager 2026 are not supported.
For more information, please contact our Support Desk.
2. .NET platform
Typical Manager 2026 introduces an important update regarding the .NET platform.
To ensure a modern, stable, and supported installation foundation, Typical Manager 2026 is based on .NET 8.
Action required: The installation of Typical Manager 2026 requires a target environment that supports .NET 8. Please verify your environment before starting the migration.
3. Supported AutoCAD Electrical versions
As Typical Manager 2026 is based on the new .NET platform, this release supports AutoCAD 2025 and AutoCAD 2026.
The following AutoCAD versions are no longer supported in Typical Manager 2026:
- 2015, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2024
These versions remain supported in the previous release, Typical Manager 2025.
If you depend on one of the unsupported AutoCAD versions, please contact our Support Desk before planning your upgrade.
4. Supported SQL Server versions
To provide the best possible experience and ensure the highest level of security, the supported SQL Server versions for Typical Manager have been updated to those that are currently under official support and not considered End of Life.
Currently supported: Microsoft SQL Server 2025.
Why upgrading SQL Server matters
- Security — SQL Server updates often include important security patches and fixes that address vulnerabilities. Upgrading helps keep your data secure and protected from potential threats.
- Performance and stability — Newer SQL Server versions bring significant performance improvements and enhanced stability, resulting in faster query execution times and a more reliable database environment.
- Feature enhancements — Microsoft regularly introduces new features, functionality, and enhancements in newer SQL Server releases, enabling improved data analysis and decision-making.
- Vendor support — By using supported SQL Server versions, you can rely on continued support from both Yellax and Microsoft, helping to minimize downtime and maximize system availability.
Please note: Continuing to use an unsupported SQL Server version poses potential risks to your data security, system performance, and overall stability. We strongly recommend upgrading to a supported SQL Server version at your earliest convenience.
5. Increase performance with Attribute Count
A new Attribute Scope Count option is available in Typical Manager 2026 that can significantly increase performance.
For full details on this new option, including how it works and example outcomes, please refer to the What's New in Typical Manager 2026 article.
